The Agua Fria National Monument might be a small drive outside the city of Phoenix, but is very well worth the trip. Upon its 71,000-acres, the monument hosts all kinds of wonderful and unique foliage from the area from the canyon of the Agua Fria River, to the semi-desert area, to the riparian forest. Everyone will your family will awe at this magnificent natural beauty.

You may think that the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa is just another hotel, but you will be amazed when you see the design and all that they offer their guests and visitors. The exquisite resort sits at the foot of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve on 39 acres and offers eight swimming pools, seven tennis courts, an 18-hole putting course, and a full-service European spa, salon, and fitness center. Something for the entire family to love.

Enjoying Broadway shows without going to Broadway is a breeze when you see what ASU Gammage Broadway Shows has to offer. Some of the plays you are sure to enjoy include Movin' Out, Dora's Pirate Adventure, Annie, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor. Any family would love to sit back and watch these performances.

If you have ever wanted to visit a real ghost town, now is your chance. You can visit a real live 1890's ghost town in Phoenix at the Goldfield Ghost Town. During its time, this town had 400 residents, 3 saloons, a boarding house, general store, blacksmith shop, brewery, meat market, a schoolhouse and we cannot forget the Bordello, which was just as much a part of history as the gold mines themselves. Enjoy visiting the unique shops and tours that are available every day.

Phoenix is home to one of the most important private Indian arts center in the United States. The Heard Museum will give you a lesson in the heritage and the culture of the Native people that once lived in the area and many of their unique artwork is on display. On March 4 and 5th, you may find it fascinating to join in on the 48th Annual Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market. During the fair over 600 Native Americans will display their masterpieces and also sell their artwork to guests.

If hiking is your passion, then the Papago Trails will be just the right place for you. Pagago Park originally was designated as an Indian reservation for the Maricopa and Pima tribes in 1879. In 1914, President Wilson signed a proclamation deeming the area Papago Saguaro National Monument, but in 1930, made changes to the proclamation and abolished the monument. As you walk these trails, you will be walking in the same footsteps of the Maricopa and Pima Indian tribes did, so very long ago.

If outdoor activities are not your speed but artwork is then the Phoenix Art Museum will give you plenty of hours of fun. This museum is geared for families and have several activities designed just for families such as Family Fun Days, Teen Seen, and ArtWorks Gallery. There will be something for each person in your family to enjoy. A few of the current exhibitions and ones that will be coming up soon include Lingerie: Secrets of Elegance, Demonic Devine in Himalayan Art, and the 41st Annual Cowboy Artists of America Exhibition & Sale.

Many weddings, receptions and other great events have been seen at Wrigley's Mansion. If you have ever had a piece of Wrigley's gum then you know exactly who built this wonderful mansion in 1932. It rises above the city of Phoenix, which is located on a 100-foot knoll. From here, you can see Phoenix with a bird's eye view.

Another great hiking area is Camelback Mountain. The hiking trails are more for experienced hikers but even if you do not enjoy hiking, you will love the beauty that can only be seen with the various hiking trails that are throughout the Phoenix area.

One of the major attractions in Phoenix are the Desert Botanical Gardens. No matter what time of year you visit, the gardens will give you a colorful display of the most beautiful flora around. The entire gardens is 145 acres of beauty, and the viewing of some of the birds that frequent the area such as hummingbirds, Cactus Wrens and Verdins.
